We needed a break!

We had a really tough week. It has been a while since we were able to do anything as a family. So we headed to St Louis Saturday morning. It was a short trip but we had a lot of fun.
We went straight to the St Louis Science Center. They were having a Marvel exhibit. Very Cool! It was all about super heroes and how they made the special effects.

Then we headed to the hotel, went swimming and then to dinner. ( The Drury Inn, a very nice hotel. We received 2 free tickets to "The Magic House", free cocktails from 5-7, free snacks and soda for the kids until 10pm and we all got a great breakfast buffet. I highly recommend the Drury Inn. ) After dinner we went to see the Arch .The Hump is what Wyatt and I were calling it. I never knew it was made of metal. I though it was made of concrete. HUGE! sums it up. The first picture is Craig pushing the stroller with Rylee in it and Wyatt is walking beside him.

Then back to the hotel with 2 cranky kids. The next morning we got up had a great big breakfast and went to the Zoo. We didn't get to see everything because it was huge and the kids got tired.

So we headed back home from there. It all went by so fast but we needed some FAMILY TIME!

A sad day for us

Today we said good bye to our little "Mac" our Boston Terrier. Mac was a GREAT dog. He had been in really bad shape for a long while. He had several strokes which made him crooked like an "S". We think he had another one on Sunday as a storm came through our area. I took him to the vet the next morning since he did not get any better over night. The vet kept him all day and Craig picked him up that evening. Mac had 2 more medicines he had to take, he was already on heart medicine. The vet said to give him a couple days. Well, he did not get better. It was so hard for us! Craig told me I would have to be the one, he just couldn't. Mac had been Craig's dog since highschool. He was 12. We Loved that little Mac. He will be missed so much. I will hear his bark in my head when I open the door to our house for a long time.

The Kentucky State Fair

Today we went to the Ky State fair with Mammaw. We got there about 8am. We spent most of our time inside. We went outside to the Midway and Wyatt and Rylee rode a few rides. It was fun but very HOT!

We saw baby pigs, goats, rabbits, etc. Wyatt and Mammaw went to watch the alligator show while Rylee and I looked around inside. Mammaw said Wyatt covered his eyes when the man put his hand in the alligator's mouth. We all went back to Mammaw's house and took a nap then headed home.

Wyatt's day at school!

Well I guess Wyatt had a really good day at school. He got off the bus smiling ear to ear. I asked him how his day was and he said "Fine" I asked him what he did in school and he said " I took a nap!" He couldn't think of anything else he did. I asked him if he made any friends and he said "Trenton" Whoo Hooo! It was a total success. I am sure I will still worry about the bus ride though.

Oh, Rylee is doing great at the sitters. The babysitter's 2 year old has been running a fever. Rylee was running a fever last night but was OK this morning. She is a tough little cookie until she is sick. She will never be able to hide being sick. You can tell by looking at her eyes if she does not feel well.

Wyatt started school today!

The morning went well. I thought the bus driver was going to stop and I would tell her I was taking him on his first day. She flew right pass the house. We stopped at the little grocery store to get Wyatt a doughnut to make it a special occasion. We got at school at 7:55am and kids were everywhere. His classroom had about 15 kids in there. He clung to me for dear life. I slowly pryed him off and he seemed OK. I was not sad. Just freaking out worried he might get on the wrong bus or something.

Wyatt starts school tomorrow! Ugh! It's not that he is going to school. It's that it is so far away and he will be taking a school bus too. The drive is about 1/2 hour one way.
What seat is the safest on a school bus? I want him sitting there. I have all these "WHAT IFs" roaming around in my head. Ugh!!!

Yesterday was Grandma's Birthday!

Yesterday we went out to dinner with Grandma, Papaw, Aunt Caroline, cousins Lily and Sofie. It was Grandma's birthday and we made her a Build-a-bear. She loved it! When you press it's arm, you can here Rylee say" I love you Grandma" and then Wyatt says "I love you Grandma". It is too cute!

I still have a headache! Ugh!

I have a headache!

I have had the worst headache for about 3 days. It is allergies, my sinuses. UGH! Nothing is working.

Rylee and Wyatt are sharing a room now.

I moved Rylee into Wyatt's room and turned Rylee's room into a play room. Rylee is on the bottom bunk and Wyatt is on the top. She and Wyatt have been sleeping so much better now. I really don't think she ever liked the crib and Wyatt is so happy not to be all alone in his room now. The play room is really cute too. And they are going to keep their toys in there all the time! HA! Right! Well that is the plan. I don't know how long the sleeping arrangements will be like this. It buys us some time before we get Rylee her bedroom suit.
We have not gone camping much this summer! Our camper is completely gutted in our garage and it has been way too hot to tent camp. We have plans for this fall though (tent camping).
My work has been busy, busy!
