The kids have a new Babysitter!

Anyone that knows me well, knows how hard of a time I have with Babysitters. I am very picky and living away from the city does not leave many choices. The good ones end up quiting all together and I haven't really had real bad ones, just indifferent.
I have rules... No hitting or saying bad words (stupid, jerk etc). Not too much TV, about 1-2 hours and no TMNT, Power Rangers, Sponge Bob and stuff like that. Oh and no Junk Food.
I don't think that is asking too much.
I am forever in search of ... The Perfect Babysitter and the Perfect Purse.
Wyatt starts school on the 15th. He will be taking a bus. UGH! I hope I can handle it. He is only 4! He is so excited, he can't wait!

We had a sick weekend!

Craig came home early from work on Friday, SICK. He felt horrible most of the weekend. Sunday we went to Lincoln to pick out a camping spot for Halloween weekend. Not many to pick from, believe it or not only a handful left. Well, it was a beautiful day and only planned to pick a camp spot but Wyatt begged to go to the lake to play in the sand for a bit which turned into both he and Rylee in the water to their chins. Well they both rode home nearly naked. Wyatt in his underpants and Rylee in a diaper. Oh, by the way, Huggies diapers hold about 10 pounds of water we found out. I ended up taking her diaper off under her shorts because she could barely walk from the weight of the diaper. The rest of the evening went well.
We all got up this morning and got ready to go to Grandma's so I could go to work. We got all the way to the corner before Grandma's house then BLUGH! Wyatt threw-up all over my back seat. We got to Grandma's and I ran into the house to get a towel to clean it all up. Needless to say Rylee didn't even get out of her seat and we headed back home. That was the only time he got sick and he's felt fine the rest of the day. We've watched the movie "Narnia" 3 times!

Bible School

Wyatt and Daddy have been at Bible School all week! Daddy is the official photographer and Wyatt is having a BLAST! His Best Buddies are there too! Carter and Rilan. They are all like Peas in a Pod! Rylee has been hanging out with me making Adoption Boxes and doing laundry all week. What a good little helper she is!

Wyatt wants to go to School!

Wyatt will be going to St. Bernard's this year. He is extremely excited about it. He asks almost everyday. "Am I going to St Bernard's today?" I don't know what about it he is excited about. I think he is looking forward to taking a bus and making new friends. I am a nervous wreck about him riding a bus. He will only be going 3 days a week, but all day long.
Rylee is getting a new baby sitter too. The sitter lives a stones throw from work. I like that and Wyatt will be going there when he is not in school.

I miss my kids! AGAIN !!! : (

Mammaw has the kids again in Louisville. I talked to them this morning and they are very busy having lots of fun and not missing me much. I woke up feeling sad today because yesterday was the first time ever that I went the whole day without talking to them. It was just a series of events that prevented it but I was sad! I will be going to Louisville after work tomorrow and we will come home Saturday night.

Rylee went Pee Pee in the Potty!!!!

Whooo Hooo! Yesterday Rylee kept pulling at her Diaper saying "Tight!" So I took off her diaper and put on a pair of training pants. They were way to big, size 4t but that was all I had. She really like them even though they hung way past her knees and were pulled up under her arms. Sorry, I did not get a picture! She went back to playing then came out of her room. When I saw her in her training pants I asked her if she wanted to go Potty. We went in, I sat her on her potty and she PEED!!! Hooray for Rylee! For the rest of the day she proceeded to pee in her pants. WELL, it's a good start!?!

The Shaffer's are gone :(

Angie, Sean and the kids left this morning! What a cute bunch of kids! Craig asked me how I felt about having all the kids in the house. I told him I loved it! He said "Me too". Who knows, maybe I can talk him into a couple more kids! Maybe, I am crazy! Here are some pictures. I think Angie got some really good ones on her camera. So check her blog out too!

The Shaffer's are here :)

Angie, Sean and the kids got her last night and I hope they are enjoying Holiday World now! I am sure they are! The weather is great! I can not believe how well behaved their children are. I was correcting Wyatt for doing one of his "Wyatt" things he does. I looked over at Angie and said "Can you give me any tips?" She just laughed. What a great mom and dad they are!
Sleeping arrangements turned out great! I hope everyone was comfortable!

The Shaffer's are coming to visit!

We met Sean in Guatemala, when Craig and I went to visit Rylee last year. He was visiting his 2 daughters he and his wife were adopting. We have kept in touch with Sean and Angie ever since! When I heard they were moving to Indiana, we invited them to bring the kids to Holiday World. Well, they will be here tomorrow. It will be exciting to have them stay with us! They now have 7 children with the girls home now. So that will be a total of 4 adults and 9 children to find sleeping spots for. I think I have it figured out. I will update later!

A little closer to home!

My Friend Vanessa has been searching and searching for her daughter Arriana's birth family since we brought our children home in September. She finally found her with the help of Sharon who lives in Panajachel, Guatemala and runs MayanFamilies.org. Thank you Sharon!

Sharon had given them food and clothing for the children and then sent someone to check out their situation. Well, we have come to find out they live in a make shift house on the side of a cliff. It is very unsafe for her other 5 children. They have NOTHING! No food, running water, beds, blankets, nothing! Vanessa has decided to have a "Buy a Block" Fundraiser through her local church. It will take 600 blocks at $10.00 each to buy a small piece of land and build them a home.

Be aware I will be asking you to buy a block!
Ten dollars, and you can make a drastic change in a families life!

Mariah Hill is 150 years old!

Mariah Hill had their 150th Birthday this past weekend! What an amazing turn out. The whole town was in festival mode all weekend and so were my kids. Grandma and Pawpaw live right across the street where it was all happening. Wyatt and Daddy camped along with several other family members in Grandma and Pawpaw's back yard. We all had a great weekend! Here are pictures of the kids and the parade! Rylee collected a lot more candy than Wyatt. She was "BUSY" picking up candy and putting it in her bucket and Wyatt was more interested in the parade.
