Updates and future plans - Summer is here!

Our Team from JDRF. Our team earned close to $1,000.00 and the money is still coming in!

Summer is here! The kids have begun "Summer Camp" at the YMCA. Who do I think I'm fooling?! Wyatt is much smarter than that. It is the same place that he and Rylee had gone this whole school year. Calling it something else does not make it anything different to him. Rylee does not care either way.

Well, to add fuel to the fire, when we decided to send them to The Y, I requested that Wyatt not take the shuttle bus with the older kids (which is 5 years and older) to the Ferdinand YMCA. I am an over protective mother and there are several reasons, mostly I was concerned he would learn more that I would want him to about EVERYTHING, being with so many older kids all summer and I want him and Rylee to be together. Well, of course Wyatt is not happy at all about that, and boy have we been hearing it! Weeeee, Summer!
I have been able to advert his attention by reminding him that this weekend we will be going to Kelly's (Craig's Cousin) wedding. Sunday VBS (Vacation Bible School) starts at the local Methodist Church and Next Saturday we will be going to Holiday World hosted by SIFTGA.
It does help reminding him of all the fun things he does get to do but it take a lot of reminding.

Abbey Road on the River!

This is how the story goes...

My Mom, wonderful and thoughtful as she is, entered a drawing that the Courier Journal of Louisville was having. She was hoping to win tickets for my brother (Uncle Shawn) and his girlfriend (Aunt Theresa). You see, Theresa is a huge fan of the Beatles, and my mom thought it would be great to win tickets for them. Well, my mom hardly ever wins things but this time she won. Wooo Hooo! Abbey Road on the River!
She won the grand prize package of a 3-night stay at the Galt House, VIP tickets to every concert during Abbey Road on the River, all-day food passes and a Beatles 12 core album CD collection.
So the kids and I headed to Louisville Sunday morning to join in on all the fun. Craig had to work.
When we checked into The Galt House their were Beatles every where.
All the bands were staying there. It was awesome!
After touring the hotel
we walked a few blocks away to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner
then over to 4th Street Live.
I hadn't been in that area since it was the Galleria.
When we got back to the room my brother let me use his pass so I could with Theresa and check out some of the bands that were playing on the Belvedere. I had a great time and wished that I had brought the kids with me. It was much more family friendly than I thought it would be. It was perfect weather and everybody was dancing and singing along with the bands. It was so much fun. I will be going again next year!
The next morning at The Galt House they had set up a children's sing along on the second floor. I thought that was so awesome and the kids loved it too!

Graduation X 2

Yes, yesterday, Wyatt had his second Graduation from Preschool. You see, he actually goes to 2 different schools.
St. B is where he and Rylee will be going to together this fall. When I signed him up for preschool there I only sent him 3 days a week. The other 2 days a week he attended Y Wee Care with Rylee. I wanted Rylee and him to be together as much as possible and being that she was just starting preschool, I wanted him to be there for her too.
Yesterday was the Y Wee Care graduation. It was great! The kids were all so cute in their caps and gowns.
Wyatt and a couple of his buddies.
More friends!
Here comes my baby boy! :(
He is quite proud of himself!
This one is my favorite!
The Graduation cake. Wyatt is on the bottom right.

We cant forget our future graduates!!!!

Tomorrow is our JDRF walk at Holiday World

http://walk.jdrf.org/
Our team name is "Families & Friends of Holiday World"!

Last night my MIL, SIL, Rylee and I went to Wal-Mart and bought t-shirts to decorate for our team to wear. I am so glad we did, now I am all excited about tomorrow! We are going to put nicknames and numbers on the back of our shirts! This is going to be so fun!

I am going to walk through the park today and corner some employees for sponsorships.

We are doing pretty good already but we can do better!

Thanks to all my teammates for doing this with me!

You all are awesome people!

Happy being me today!

Life is good!
My kids and husband, oh, and I are all healthy. We have a good life, we aren't rich in money but we are in love!
Wyatt is growing in leaps and bounds. He is now truly a "Two Wheeling Bike Rider" Which makes me a nervous wreck.

Rylee amazes me everyday with how smart, strong and brave she is with that little body of hers.

Craig of course is working A LOT. I miss him! I see him everyday and throughout the day, but I need to make a point to take a minute or two and just look at his face. You know what I mean?

ANOTHER reason I am happy today is My fellow Guatemala heart filled friends and I have started a new Group. MAYAN MISSIONS. I am feeling the love and enthusiasm of this group already. We have several contacts now in Guatemala and I believe, we, together will do a lot of good things for the children and women of Guatemala. You are invited to join us.
If your heart is filled with wanting to help the children and women of Guatemala like we do come join us.

Your backyard friends... The Backyardigans!

Together In the backyard again
In the place where we belong
Where we'll probably sing a song
And we'll maybe dance along
We've got the whole wide world
In our yard To explore.
We always find things
We've never seen before.
That's why Everyday
We're back for more
With your friends ...
The Backyardigans.

Tyrone, Tasha, Pablo, Uniqua & Austin

We had such a great time on Saturday. Wyatt, Rylee, Mammaw and I went to see The Backyardigan's Live at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. What a great show and we had the best seats ever. I was very happy on how well Rylee did. She is only 2 and tends not to want to sit still for long periods of times. She hardly moved at all and she didn't take her eyes off of the stage for a minute. Wyatt had been to several other simular shows and he always does well. I love to see my kids so happy!

We have a new graduate in our family!

Wyatt has now Graduated from Preschooler. He will be a Kindergartner in the fall. My boy is growing up : (
So is my girl! She will be attending the same school as her brother this fall but as a Preschooler. I have never known a child so happy to go to school as Rylee. I am so glad they will finally be together in the same school.
Wyatt getting his diploma.

Here is Wyatt with his class. He is the one in the middle looking at the camera.
The little boy with curly blond hair on the left is his buddy Aidan. I believe they share the same brain. They are like to peas in a pod when they are together. Aidan also live within walking distance from our house. Just think what their teenage years will be like for us with the both of them! They better hope they both keep their cuteness!

Yippy! Holiday World is now open!

Holiday World opened Saturday. The kids are so excited. Wyatt more than Rylee only because he remembers last year better. Craig had to work but he ate lunch with us and we ran into him a few times while at the park. First destination was Holidog Town stopping to ride the Freedom Train first, of course! Rylee loved the train ride.

At Holidog Town the kids went crazy. I never realized how hard it is to keep up with both of them at the same time. Wyatt kept running into other kids that he knows. Like father, Like son! He was so excited, as if it was his very own personal party. I finally got the them to agree to leave that section. We had a lot more of the park to see. We rode the new Star Spangled Carousel. Wyatt rode the tiger and Rylee a horse. Somehow I was lucky enough to get the kids to move on after just one ride on that. I just cant handle going around in circles. I never could. We headed over to Rudolph's Reindeer Ranch to ride some more little kid rides. But noticed Santa was going to have his story telling in just a few minutes. So we stopped there first.
Wyatt up on stage to listen to Santa's Story. Rylee refused because she is still a little scared of Santa.

Here is Wyatt on the new Reindeer Games ride. This was his favorite ride of all. He is the one on the right and you can hear him laughing and screaming.

What a Day! Oh, What a great bunch of Fun!
